Vodka
Naramata Sunset
Our signature serve. Pour it blue, add the lemon, and watch it turn sunset pink, the colour of a Naramata evening over the lake.
Ingredients
- 2 oz vodka
- 1 oz Bench & Bloom lavender syrup
- Soda water, to top
- Ice, a lemon wedge and a lavender sprig
Method
- Fill a tall glass with ice. Add the vodka and the lavender syrup.
- Top with soda water and stir gently. It will be a deep blue.
- Serve with a lemon wedge on the side. Squeeze and stir it in at the table.
- Watch it bloom from blue to sunset pink. Garnish with a lavender sprig.
This is the drink Bench & Bloom was made for. It pours a clean blue, and the moment the lemon goes in the whole glass turns pink, the same shift you see over Okanagan Lake at the end of a summer day.
Vodka keeps it clean and lets the lavender and the colour do the talking, but a botanical gin works beautifully too. Start from a batch of lavender simple syrup or a bottle of Bench & Bloom, which is already balanced for exactly this.
Skip the steeping. Ours is already dialled in.
